My 2 Cents Regarding Haiti
Vieques has performed a labor of love for their Haitian friends, families and strangers.
The news quickly hit e-mail. Then, there were people in the streets of Vieques with signs, banners, cars and trucks, collecting things, and asking for assistance for Haiti.
The Mayor, Evelyn Delerme, sent out the Municipality car announcing the tragedy and asking for solidarity.
I saw my friend LuLu being followed by a young man with a pushcart.
From the warehouse, LuLu bought water and canned goods and delivered them to a waiting truck outside the Alcadesa's office.
So many people are doing so many things in so many ways.
Vieques! I am proud of you.
