Two men shot in Esperanza
One killed, one injured in drive-by shooting in Esperanza the night of January 7.
Two men were shot on Bromelias Street, at about 7:30 PM on January 7. Josue Mojica, about 23 years old and a resident of Lujan, was shot by several bullets and died immediately.
Amaury Delerme was also shot and was driven to the Vieques hospital and then taken to Centro Medico in San Juan.
Josue and Amaury were in front of Amaury's Bromelias Street residence when a car passed by and shot at them.
According to neighbor Kathy Gannett, Bromelias Street was blocked off for more than 4 hours after his death, awaiting the district attorney to arrive.
Added Gannett, "We send our love and support to Josue's family. And we hope that Amaury recuperates quickly. We also hope that those who have information about these crimes help with the investigation."
