We remember Jochy Mojica
More than 60 people attended the Peace Vigil at the site of Josue Mojica's death.
On Sunday, January 10, more than 60 people attended the Peace Vigil held at the place on Calle Bromelias where Josue "Jochy Moting" Mojica Feliciano died on Thursday night.
He died immediately when he was shot several times by individuals who drove by while he was standing on the sidewalk. Amaury Delerme Santiago was also shot several times and is recuperating in the hospital.

Jochy was 22 years old and resided in Lujan. He worked construction jobs and liked to listen to music. One of his friends explained his hopes to attend school. His mother and brothers and one sister attended the vigil and very much appreciated the support from the community.

Many candles and bouquets of flowers were left on the site.
The message of the vigil was to condemn the violence and to keep hope alive through unifying as a community. Myrna Pagan sang the Ave Maria and a psalm from the bible was read. Said Kathy Gannett, "We were reminded that the pain that life brings also often brings us a growing experience which can lighten our path." Many expressed hopes that Amaury would recover quickly.

I've heard some people say that covering this shooting is bad for the island. It's the SHOOTING that's bad for the island. Why aren't we getting outraged about that?
